We have been here for a year and are enjoying it more than expected.

Looking back on my last post there is one interesting update in its regard: The Otto Brandenderg re-make I worked on with Sam Bisbee rolled over the credits of the Academy Award Winning short "The New Tenants" last year!!! Awesome!

Too many projects to cover since the last posting but here are a few of the highlights:

"Don't Go into the Woods" - A slasher-musical-movie I co-scored and co-produced all the music for with my friend Sam Bisbee. This film was directed by Vincent D'Onofrio and was a ton of fun. Latest news is it was picked up by Tribeca Films and will be seeing some form of distribution later this year.

Sonic Scoop - I've been writing gear reviews for this wonderful website devoted to the music production business. Super awesome indie-pop treatment done here at my house. Patty introduced me to will, we recorded one song and then moved on to do a whole record! I'm playing guitar, bass keyboard, and of course, engineering and mixing. Lots of work but the results have been really rewarding. Check it out here:

http://www.facebook.com/psychicfriendmusic

and "like" it for crying out loud!!!

That should do it for now, but hopefully I can establish a timeline here to keep the 3-4 of you who are reading this up-to-date!

Oh Blog

I have fallen victim to the common crime of neglecting one's stupid blog that they thought they would be adding to every week or more. That said, I promise you, blog, that I shall try not to leave you barren and wanting any longer, at least, that's how I feel this morning.

The latest News:

In the webisodic advertising world I've completed composition projects for Miller lite, The Air Force, and continued content for WebMD. There are lots of potential clients ahead, and at the moment I'm confirmed for another season of the infamous Diet Coke Style Series, of which the next round will focus on cooking (with Tom Colicchio I believe).

Also this month I did some production/mixing work on a re-make of a big band tune by Danish legend Otto Brandenburg. It will be featured in a short film written by David Rakoff and directed by Joachim Back.

Mostly, these days, I've continued on the songwriting/production tack. My talented friends Sam Bisbee and Wes Hutchinson continue to churn out tunes with co-writers such as Greg Holden, Chloe Temtchen, Rachel Platten, Dave Doobinin, Reed Foehl and many others. They'll send me a new track with vocals and a piano or guitar, and from there I sit in my little studio and crank out appropriate productions. It's a ton of fun. If you're interested, you can check out some of the songs I've done at the following site:

http://www.boboddie.com/songs.html

In the meantime, I continue the hunt for new and interesting work to do.

the latest

The last couple of weeks I've been working on some great stuff. For the last year or so I've been working on a horror movie musical with my friends Sam Bisbee and Vincent D'Onofrio (I also make my debut as an ACTOR here, and luckily for everyone, I get killed off after about 2 minutes of screen time) Sam wrote all the songs, and we co-wrote the score together, as well as producing and recording all the songs. Well we're down to the final mix (for the movie) So I've spent quite a few days re-mixing all the songs in surround for theaters; It's gonna be awesome!

I've also been doing a lot of work with my friend Wes Hutchinson, producing songs. We've been working on stuff for nashville, movies, tv, just throwing stuff out and seeing what sticks. I'm really proud of the work we're doing right now and it seem like a great collaboration! You can check out some of the stuff we're doing on wes's myspace page.

Hmm, what else, oh yeah, I'm also doing more webisodic entertainment! This month, I'm doing a bunch of music for webMD and moen faucets! Keeps you humble! and its great for my library, which is getting pretty enormous...just like the rest of me.

Bloggin'

Well, I've finally decided to hop on the bandwagon, and only about 5 years too late, but who's counting. I know that there is at least one person out there (my mother) who will be mildly interested in reading these posts, so mom, get ready to read about what your son has been claiming to do for a living all this time.

With all the SXSW madness going around the web right now, I was happy to see my old friend Shilpa Ray get a big huge mention on nytimes.com yesterday. I recorded/mixed an EP for her old band "Beat the Devil" a while back. Unfortunately, Beat the Devil didn't make it, but Shilpa's new group seems to being doing really well, which is no surprise given that she's a total genius; definitely one of the most lucid artists I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Not to mention Mishka Shubaly, who was another third of the group, is one of my favourite people and songwriters.

At any rate, lately I've been doing a lot of everything.

I'm co-scoring a film with my friend Sam Bisbee. It's a horror-musical, and Sam wrote all the songs. We've been working on this for almost a year now and the results are pretty spectacular.

I've been mixing tunes for a guy here in town called Eytan Oren. He's a great songwriter with a really wonderful production style to his tunes, really organic and REAL, thank god. Not many loops or samples creeping their way into his songs, so that's been fun, cause I don't do as many strictly mixing/engineering projects as I used too.

Also Plenty of commercial bids for companies like starbucks, qwest, and natwest, as well as a pretty deep foray into the world of "webisodic" entertainment. I've been writing tons of music for a company called Digital Broadcasting Group, who are quite "hot" on the "interactive media" front. Through them I've been licensing music to companies like Coke, WebMD, Motorola, and many others. Although it's not the most romantic, its regular work and is good for stretching my genre muscles (read: white-man's overbite).

I think that should do it for now, I know I'm forgetting something, but now that I'm fully interactive, I'll totally blog it up.

I have a blog!

And it shall be the finest yet created.
